Imagine a fourteen-year old girl rushing home after school, turning on studio lights, quickly setting up a tripod, and talking to an inanimate object. That became a weekly occurrence as I began filming lifestyle vlogs and fashion videos for my YouTube channel. Throughout the past four years of high school, I have spent countless hours shooting and editing content for my YouTube channel and Instagram. As I became more interested in filming videos and taking pictures for my photography Instagram account, I began to save up money to buy a laptop and a camera to improve the quality of content I produce. Every year, I looked forward to attending the YouTube convention, Playlist Live. During my junior year, I had the opportunity to speak on a panel about following trends versus being an individual on social media. This allowed me to express how my aesthetics have evolved as my passion has grown. Additionally, as I embarked into working with local companies to produce content, I gained numerous skills including how to manage a productive schedule, communicate effectively with clients from various backgrounds, and create social media posts that would help me to build a portfolio.  This past school year a local news station interviewed me regarding my passion for social media. It would soon turn into a career as I am now majoring in social media at The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.
